The 4-H Youth Development program creates opportunities and supportive environments for youth and adults to become capable, competent and caring citizens. The emphasis is on "hands-on" learning that focuses on the youth's area of interest. Programs are conducted with the help of parents, adult volunteer leaders and professional staff who organize educational experiences. Youth participate in organized 4-H clubs, special interest and project groups, 4-H school enrichment programs, 4-H camp and other special activities.

Important Information - Office Closed to In-Person Visits

Updated 6/1/2020:
Continuing with recommendations from the University of Kentucky, our office will continue current operations through the month of June. Staff are taking turns working from the office and working remotely. We will not be holding any regularly scheduled meetings in June, regardless of the size of the group. Our front doors will remain locked, but we are open and working to provide service. You may reach all of our staff by phone or email. You may continue to drop off soil/plant/insect samples. You may continue to drop off and pick-up items or publications when arranged. Our staff is currently working on how to allow groups back into the building while following all CDC recommendations and the guidelines set forth by Governor Beshear. If you are a group leader, we will be reaching out in late June or early July to discuss how we can resume activities. This is going to be a process, so we ask for your continued patience as we work through these unprecedented times.

4/27/2020:
In response to recommendations from the University of Kentucky and the phases of reopening outlined by Governor Beshear, we will remain closed to the public, with no in-person meetings until at least May 31, 2020. Our staff will continue to work remotely during this time as well. We have a very limited staff working in the building each day, so please continue to be patient if you get our voicemail, we will return your calls.

Effective immediately, our office will be closed to the public. We are still here working and can take soil samples, plant samples, insect, etc., through a cart we have placed out front and our mail slot! Please see signs at the front of our building. Call our office at 859-623-4072 if you have any questions or want to check-in before you arrive to drop something off. This decision was made in response to recommendations from the University of Kentucky and the CDC to keep all of our employees and clientele safe! Keep watching this page for updates and other useful information!

Soil, plant, insect drop off. A cart will be outside the front door from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday for soil and plant samples that need to be dropped off. When you drop anything off, give us a call so we will know to go out and get it, 859-623-4072
